Tau on shining for Bafana again
Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Percy Tau believes that he has the ability to make a meaningful contribution to the Bafana Bafana national team despite coach Hugo Broos’ preference of selecting a younger crop of players.
En-route to racking up 15 goals in 46 appearances for Bafana Bafana, Tau became one of the most respected players in South Africa since 2015.
However, the Qatar SC attacker has not featured for the SA national team since the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
Nonetheless, the former Brighton forward is of the thought that he still has much to offer on a national level.
“I still feel that I can contribute to the country,” Tau said on MSWon947, as per iDiskiTimes.
“Yes, there are performances that put doubts or questions but that does not make you a bad player at all and it does not change who I am.
“My name will never change; I’m still Percy and I’ll always try and give my best. Yes, there are players that are doing well but then do you only want to have the younger ones only in the national team and take all the other ones?”
