Bafana Bafana legend Doctor Khumalo reserved special praises for Orlando Pirates starlet Mohau Nkota following a promising showing during the 2024/25 campaign.

Nkota was a revelation for the Buccaneers last season, where he managed to record seven goals and five assists in 37 games in what was his debut showing in the PSL.

With Nkota leaving a lasting impression on Khumalo, the former Kaizer Chiefs fan favourite expressed that the 20-year-old’s positive playing style aids the Buccaneers.

“Listen. This boy, and every ball that he gets, it’s whether he takes a shot or he takes a defender on,” Khumalo told SoccerZone, as per Kick Off.

“He (Nkota) has never taken the ball backwards, he has never played anything backwards.

“He is always positive. His game is not negative. In every touch that he had, he was creating a final pass, taking on a player on or taking a shot.”
