According to reports in PSL football media, Mamelodi Sundowns could strengthen their defensive department with another Bafana Bafana international in the coming weeks.

Following a decent showing at the FIFA Club World Cup, Sundowns returned home and are believed to be keen on bolstering their backline for next season.

Stellenbosch FC star Fawaaz Basadien has emerged as a top target for Downs, according to Soccer Laduma, as the marauding left-back proved to be one of the PSL’s most consistent players during the last couple of seasons.

The same report mentions that Sundowns are preparing to offer the left-back a three-year deal, amid interest from both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

However, Basadien is currently in favour of a move to Chloorkop, where he would compete with the likes of Divine Lunga and Aubrey Modiba in the left-back position.
