Antonio Van Wyk has achieved promotion to the Austrian top flight with SV Ried.

The club have been promoted to the Austrian Bundesliga after going out of reach atop the 2. Liga with 64 points, having won 20 of their 29 matches so far this season. They clinched the title on Friday with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz and will finish their season at home against First Vienna on Sunday.

Van Wyk joined the Austrian second tier side from Stellenbosch FC at the end of September 2024 and has scored once in 18 appearances for the club this season, making six starts and coming off the bench on 12 occasions.

The 23-year-old represented Bafana Bafana on four occasions in COSAFA Cup matches between 2022 and 2024, scoring one goal in South Africa’s 2-1 win over Botswana in July 2022.
