Following a positive run of games, particularly during the recent 2025 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Bafana Bafana have now moved up the world rankings.

Coach Hugo Broos and his troops gave South African football lovers much to smile about during the latest international break after picking up victories against Benin and Lesotho respectively.

As one of the most in-form nation teams in the world currently, South Africa are on a 18-match unbeaten streak while they remain on course to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Now though, according to football’s world governing body, Bafana have moved up one spot in the world rankings and currently occupy 56th overall.

South Africa have also moved into 10th position in the African rankings.
