Bafana Bafana player profile: Teboho Mokoena Date of Birth: 24 January 1997 Place of Birth: Bethlehem, Free State, South Africa Position: Central Midfield Height: 1.76 Teboho Mokoena is a popular professional South African footballer who currently plies his trade for Mamelodi Sundowns and also, the Bafana Bafana national team. Mokoena began his career in the SuperSport United youth ranks during the 2014/15 season and was famously promoted to the first team in the same campaign. En-route to becoming one of the best midfielders in the PSL during his time with SuperSport, Mokoena represented South Africa at all youth levels, namely the U17, U20 ,U23 and Senior ranks. Mokoena then joined Mamelodi Sundowns on the 27th of January 2022 and swiftly cemented his place within the club’s starting XI. It was under the tutelage of Rulani Mokwena where the 27-year-old improved on his game immensely and was often considered to be among the best midfielders on the African continent in the last couple of years. Apart from possessing an impressive engine, Mokoena is known to be a midfield technician. The ex-Matsatsantsa star is also one of the best dead-ball specialists in the PSL and has a plethora of long-distance goals in his Arsenal.
