Kekana learned his trade in Tshwane during a couple of spells between the University of Pretoria and SuperSport United youth academies. However, it was with Matsatsantsa where he ultimately made a name for himself as one of the best up-and-coming defenders in South African football. Kekana spent six successful years at SuperSport United before joining Mamelodi Sundowns in 2021, where he swiftly embedded his name into the club’s starting XI. On the back of arguably his best campaign in SA football, Kekana is currently the reigning PSL Defender of the Season and is known for his pristine tackling ability and technical prowess on the ball.
